Dear Folks,
There are just a few minutes that I have now before I have to shove off–not enough time to do anything on another lesson–so I will drop a line. I have a touch of ringworm again and have to have it dressed at 9:30 each nite. I don’t let it get the start of me or I might have a “hot” time of it.
Yesterday I got a telegram from Melba Woos inquiring about a couple of tickets to the Army game. Maybe you know about it. Anyway, I telegrammed her back (at her expense) that I could get them if Charlie doesn’t come. Today I got a letter from Charlie saying that he was surely coming and that maybe Dan and the Yeomans girls would come, too.
now the whole academy is enthused over the game Saturday. We have to get up at 5:20 A.M. (Sat morn.) eat at six and go to class at seven. At 9;15 we end the second class of the day and have lunch. At 10:05 we get on the train and go to Baltimore. Plebes carry on the whole trip, so I will have some fun I hope. Anyway, it will be my first ride on any kind of vehicle in four months. (17 June, 17 October!).
There is lots of talk about the Harvard game at Boston. We really get a swell time up there. There is to be a dance after, plebes included and I have been informed that I will maybe have a date with a Wellesly college coed. I will tell you more about the social doings of that trip later.
Well, it’s time to get my ringworm treated so I will close until Sunday when I have several letters to write. One is to an upperclassman’s girlfriend and I will make it a good one. She is darn good looking and he wants it sweet and mushy.
I guess I haven’t told you, but my glasses work swell. At first, I used to waken morning with big chunks of matter in them but now I can read page after page and never notice it. It’s a good thing I have them.
Love,
Reg.
P.S. The apples are gone, the last one tonite. John ate about 3 to my one and wants to give me money to have you send some. I would like to tame his appetite to a fifty-fifty basis and all “chow” so I told him you wouldn’t like it if he paid you for them.
Off the Spanish tree. Passed test. Made 3.5 in Math.
